SITUATION
With experiential learning becoming increasingly integrated into curriculum, Conestoga College recognized the need to better connect students' co-curricular and classroom experiences with future employment opportunities. There was a desire to engage both students and employers to raise awareness of the new Student Experiential Record (SER), a first-of-its-kind tool designed to capture and articulate students' skills development across all learning environments.

SOLUTION
Through strategic planning and stakeholder engagement, we conducted employer sessions, student design thinking workshops, and focus groups to understand user needs. From this insight, we developed a multi-phase awareness campaign and supporting visual materials. The creative strategy focused on connecting students' daily academic experiences with real-world competencies and guided them toward Conestoga’s career services for support in articulating these skills.
SUCCESS
The campaign successfully resonated with both students and employers, fostering strong awareness and interest for the Student Experiential Record. Visual communications helped students recognize how their learning translated into transferable experience, while employers gained clarity on how to assess student readiness.
